I have always been wondering about the way the things around us have been created and the way how these evolve over a period of time. Science has been providing answers to many of my questions which is why i believe more in it. To many of us we try to just ignore the fact that every thing surrounding us has been set up in perfect order, just that we always insist to arrange them according to our own wishes and utilities. We have always been intruding in their space putting more disorder and disarray. These disturbances gets themselves corrected by activities which happen at regular intervals. These activities are natural and are not man-made disorders. Natural events such as earthquakes, volcanoes, torrential activities, tsunami's, cyclones, hurricanes are all due to human intervention. The delicate balance is disturbed when we humans use more and care less about our future. The human activities such as farming, mining, over industrialization, have been adding more hazardous and detrimental gases into our atmosphere.
The GHGs - greenhouse gases such as CO2, CH4, water vapour, CFCs have been creating Green House effect which is warming up our atmosphere. The level of CO and CO2 has been constantly increasing in atmosphere over the decades from 1950s, the levels has ha d been at 310 ppm which was well within 350 ppm which the permissible level in earth atmosphere. The levels of CO2 is essential, since it helps in maintaining the temperature, and CO2 is also one of the primary component in photosynthesis which is our and all living organisms food. The CO2 gets converted to Carbohydrates in plants and when they die they become fossil fuels such as crude oil and coal.
The upper safety limit for atmospheric CO2 is 350 parts per million (ppm). Atmospheric CO2 levels have stayed higher than 350 ppm since early 1988. |
The rising levels of CO2 is major driver of Green house effect and drastic imminent concept of Climate Change towards which our world is slowly but gradually advancing. We as humans have a great challenge ahead of us in guarding our home, protecting other living-beings. We have been exploiting without even thinking about our uncertain future, the need of the hour is to give a thought before we use any resource. We are responsible for all the actions and certainly should take ownership of protecting our home. Join hands in combating the climate-change concept, individually by exploiting the resources available to you at minimal.
Finally to conclude, We certainly have enough for basic amenities but not more for our greediness. There is a clear distinction been our "needs" and our "wants". Earth can fulfill all our "needs" for a simple life style but cant suffice our "wants" the selfish us.
thanks a lot Naveen, :)
